US-Japan Defence Treaty

On April 10th President Joe Biden and Fumio Kishida, the Japanese prime minister, announced a new era of military cooperation. This all happened during a meeting at the White House and is aimed at countering the perceived threat from China.


The US president said the two nations’ forces will cooperate on a joint command structure and, along with Australia, develop a new air missile defence network.
